Re:Question on ZOS utility

Discussion created by ca.portal.admin on Nov 4, 2010
Can I use the following utility to move an IDMS dataset from one spindle
to another? I have used it for IMS & DB2 datasets on occasion when a
dataset had to be moved.

** THIS IS THE COPY **

//DNXA EXEC PGM=3DADRDSSU,REGION=3D4096K
//SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=3D*
//BCKUP1 DD DSN=3DTAPE DATASET NAME,
// DISP=3D(NEW,CATLG,DELETE),
// UNIT=3DTAPEC,VOL=3D(,,,,9),RETPD=3D0015
//SYSIN DD *
DUMP OUTDD(BCKUP1) OPTIMIZE(3) ALLX SHR -
DATASET(INCLUDE(DATASET NAME.**))

** THIS IS THE RESTORE

//DBRES EXEC PGM=3DADRDSSU,REGION=3D4096K
//DASD1 DD UNIT=3D3390,VOL=3DSER=3DVVVVVV,DISP=3DOLD
//TAPE1 DD DSN=3DTAPE DATASET NAME,
// DISP=3DOLD,UNIT=3DTAPEC
//SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=3D*
//SYSIN DD *
RESTORE ODD(DASD1) INDD(TAPE1) -
DATASET(INCLUDE(DATASET.NAME.**)) -
RENAMEU -
((DATASET CLUSTER ...., -
DATASET DATA .....))

Thanks
