Re: [IDMSVENDOR-L] Question on DB reporting methods

Discussion created by ca.portal.admin on Dec 2, 2010
Greatly appreciate past responses.

I have had the area space reports executing on a monthly basis to insure I =
will not have any surprise space issues and have begun recording the percen=
tage of space available for historical tracking.

My next question:

Is there anything I should be taking under review from the database perspec=
tive?

Are there other reports I should be executing and reviewing to insure good =
health of the system?

I realize there are numerous reports that can be extracted but I am looking=
for the next most relevant issues I should be dealing with.

As always I greatly appreciate any recommendations.

"The ""print index"" utility. Rebuilding active indexes on a regular basis can greatly reduce I/O. When one of our users rebuilt a single index for the first time, one of their batch jobs completed in 4 hours, rather than the customary 23 hours. In another case, batch run time was reduced from 3 1/2 hours to 8 minutes. The 8 minutes included the index rebuild time.
