Clarity

We use Asset as hardware and Applications as software in Clarity. Applications have a sub-object called "Company" which is done so we know what companies use this application and the specific attributes and versions.
We can link Assets to Applications through Dependencies. But we cannot link Assets to sub-object Company (of Applications). Does anyone know if this possible to do and how? Please help.

Would creating a custom attribute against the one object that just has a custom query-lookup to the other (sub)object work?

(By using a custom query-lookup you can restrict the lookup's contents to whatever you can "code" in the lookup)
