Hiding a Resource Capacity

We have a contractor that is fixed bid and do not want his capacity to be reflected in the Clarity Resource Planning portlets. However, the contractor needs to be able to access Clarity and be able to do project related activities so marking his resource record inactive will not work. I thought about zeroing out his availability but Clarity will not allow that. I also thought about using employment type but we have contractors that need to be reflected in the capacity pool. Any other idea how I can hide a capacity? We automate our resource record to sync with PeopleSoft so we can't manually change resource record values such as termination date or OBS to filter them out.
