Typical Requests for SOA Security Gateway Logs by CA Support
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the earlier four tips, we described each of the four types of logging available in the SOA Security Manager Gateway:

1.
Gateway logging
2.
Gateway Management Console logging
3.
Filter level logging
4.
CA XML Toolkit logging

When working with CA Support to troubleshoot a Gateway issue, we, CA Support, will typically ask customers for the Gateway log (SOASecurityGateway.trc) capturing the problem the customer is experiencing using DEBUG or DATA mode.

If there is a problem within the Gateway Management Console, we will ask for the SOASecurityGatewayMangementConsole.trc file, again in DEBUG or DATA mode.

For problems relating to authentication and authorization with the SOA Security Manager Policy Server, we may additionally ask for the CA XML Toolkit log (tmxmltoolkit.log) in DEBUG mode.
