  • 1.  How do we switch from OWB to MSP in a SAAS environment

We were using OWB, but want to switch to integrated MSP scheduler.

I've uninstalled OWB and the connector, then re-installed the MSP connector, but clarity insists on trying to open OWB.

How can I switch? Am I missing something?

There is a project attribute scheduler format (or something like that).
Your need to change that from OWB to MS Project.
One way to do that manually is to
Add that to the project list view and go to edit mode.
You might also increase the row count to 50.

Before you do that you should be aware of the differences between the two scheduler when using Clarity.
Search this forum for threads about that.
There are also some documents in the Digital Celerity shared knowledge library.

    Just wondering ...
Did the decision come from the project managers of from IT?

We tried to use OWB and it's just to difficult and inflexible, the PM's refused to use it.

I found the scheduler attribute and switched it to MSP, reinstalled the connector again, and now I'm getting a runtime error in schedlinke.exe trying to launch MSP. Any thoughts on that problem?

Normally you should uninstall both the scheduler and scheduler connect and then reinstall the scheduler and then the install of the respective schedule connect should automatically start.
You should have the connection parameters set in the same way as they were for OWB in case they are not automatically set when a project is launched into MS Project.

The install of MS Project connection needs actions than the install of OWB.
If your version is prior v12.1 you need to install the Macro as detailed in Set Up Microsoft Project with CA Clarity PPM Microsoft Project Interface in Using CA Clarity PPM with Microsoft Project
If you are in v12.1 or later and are using MS Project 2010 see
    Clarity 12.1 SP1 & MSP 2010 Weird Behaviors

which has the details of the revised instructions.
