Transaction Trace Filters

Hello,

I have a question regarding the filters available from the "New Transaction Trace Session" screen of Introscope Workstation (9.1.0.0). According to the help documentation, they appear to just be SOA related, but is this true? I'm hoping to get an explanation and, ideally, a simple example for each of the below (namespace and operationname are pretty self-explanatory, but the others aren't as much) so that I can better train our end-users interally:

adapternode
businessprocess
businessservice
businessstatemachine
mediationflow
mediationflowoperation
messageserver
namespace
operationname
proxyservice

Some related questions, if someone feels like tackling them:
Would any of these allow similar behavior to the kinds of traces that CEM is able to initiate for a particular business transaction?
Are there any other filters that can be added as a result of PowerPacks or custom tracers / field extensions?
Does anyone have any ideas on how (or if it's possible) to issue a transacation trace for only a certain instrumented component, e.g. a particular database backend?

Thank you.
