NSQL Syntax for allowing a "Blank" Parameter

Hi All,
What's the NSQL syntax for allowing a "Blan Parameter"? For example, In the end of my NSQL query, I have the following:

WHERE pp.id = @WHERE:PARAM:XML:INTEGER:/data/id/@value@
AND p.schedule_start >= @WHERE:PARAM:USER_DEF:DATE:Start_Date@
AND p.schedule_finish <= @WHERE:PARAM:USER_DEF:DATE:Finish_Date@
AND PM.full_name = @WHERE:PARAM:USER_DEF:STRING:Project_Manager@
AND p.name = @WHERE:PARAM:USER_DEF:STRING:Project_Name@
AND p.investment_type = @WHERE:PARAM:USER_DEF:STRING:Project_Type@

What if they don't fill in a few of those parameters? What's a programmer to do? What would the proper syntax be to allow for "nulls" or blanks" in the Parameters?

Thanks!
