CA Tuesday Tip: (CA IDMS) Displaying module contents.

It is possible to display the contents of a load module in both display and hexadecimal format from within IDMS - i.e. you don't have to use an operating system utility.

You can do this online using the LOOK task or in batch using the IDMSLOOK utility.
In both cases, the input parameter is "PROGRAM=loadmodulename" (without quotes nor spaces).

For example:

Online:
LOOK PROGRAM=IDMSDBMS

Batch:
//LOOK EXEC PGM=IDMSLOOK,REGION=2048K
....
//SYSIPT DD *
PROGRAM=IDMSDBMS
