Subject: Announcement for CA Process Automation for System z 3.1

On behalf of CA Technologies, we appreciate your business and the opportunity to provide high-quality, innovative software and services. As part of our ongoing commitment to customer success, we are pleased to announce the availability of a new and exciting product to our valued customers. Today, we are pleased to announce that CA Process Automation for System z Release 3.1 is now available.

CA Process Automation for System z is designed to automate and orchestrate the delivery of IT Services and helps create process flows to deliver IT services on the z/OS platform in a standardized and automated fashion. The automation of fulfillment processes can also help you reduce human errors and improve overall effectiveness and productivity.

Features for CA Process Automation for System z Release 3.1 include:

Serviceability: In order to provide additional levels of information and consistency for problem determination, CA Process Automation for System z has adopted the following serviceability integration:
Integration with CA OPS/MVS® Event Management and Automation System State Manager: CA Process Automation for System z integrates directly with CA OPS/MVS to run automation policy, query for system information, communicate the state of off-platform resources, and to direct the starting or stopping of z/OS resources.

Visual designer: Process designers may use a point-and-click interface to develop new processes. Designers can organize processes into smaller subcomponents known as “swim lanes.” Swim lanes simplify design and increase readability by allowing large processes to be broken down into smaller more manageable sections.

Role-based access control: Control exactly who is authorized to create and manage processes using role-based access controls. The fine-grained access controls allow only approved users to add or modify process workflows.

Scalability and availability: A highly-scalable architecture provides the ability to execute hundreds of processes simultaneously. High-availability configurations provide fail-over in the event of an infrastructure outage.
