Timeslicing Woes - 12.0.3

Hi all

I already have a support case open with CA for this but was interested in the input from the forum here to see if it's a known issue.

Basically, since the weekend our timeslicing job has yet to run through to completion. It is taking about a day to run, when normally takes less than a minute.
We use a query from CA to monitor the staus of the timeslice job and the results are interesting.

Something is causing the soft and hard allocation slices to re-slice circa 140,000 records whenever that slice object reaches completion. I've personally re-run the query at short intervals throughout yesterday into the evening and watched the count go from zero back up to 140,000.

We have paused practically all other jobs to eliminate those as a cause of such a massive re-slice of the data, but still it keeps happening.

On CA's advice, we reduced the size of the allocation daily, weekly and monthly slices to 1 period and set a near expiration date to limit the amount of data. Yet still this cycle continues.

The issue we now have is that our allocation slices have no data in them so our resource management reports are unusable, yet the job continues to take in excess of 12 hours to run before repeating the cycle.

CA have also advised a change to a Stored Procedure that allows the slice job to process 100k records in one go rather than 1k, however whilst this may speed up the job, it's unlikely to remedy the issue of massive re-slice of allocation records

Suspect that the slice rollover(s) have something to do with this issue, but we've never seen anything like it before?

Query output at present (excuse formatting, 2nd col is count of records and 3rd is slice status) - processing approx 10k records per hour so you can see how long each iteration of the job will take!
