CA IDMS Tuesday Tip by Ed Gorga, Principal Support Engineer for January 8, 2013.

Did you know that it is possible to refresh the optional bit settings while the CV is active?

This can be achieved by performing a NEW COPY on RHDCOPTF after re-assembling it with the new bit settings.

RHDCOPTF is a nucleus module so it must be done with a NUCLEUS RELOAD.

Use the following commands:-

DCMT VARY NUCLEUS MODULE RHDCOPTF NEW COPY
DCMT VARY NUCLEUS RELOAD

When performing a NUCLEUS RELOAD, be sure to follow the considerations listed in the System Operations Guide in the section entitled "Dynamically Reloading Nucleus Modules". This is in "System Startup" (chapter 2 in
r17.0, chapter 3 in r18.0).
