CA PPM 14.x/15.x Documentation: Small Change Required for Change Impact and Upgrade

Nov 01, 2017 03:25 PM

The previous practice of publishing duplicate pages that describe historic release updates, and of repeating instances of those pages in multiple doc sets, is being phased out to prevent potential conflicts associated with the future maintenance of this content. This short video illustrates the "before" and "after" page arrangement.

  • This change is limited to the Change, Impact, and Upgrade child pages that describe multiple release updates within a single doc set for a given release.
  • No content is lost.
  • Users can continue to select a release number (for example, 14.4 or 15.3) from the Versions menu at the top of all doc pages at docops.ca.com/ppmod and docops.ca.com/ppmop. (Tip: The first link ending in OD for on-demand shows the PPM SaaS documentation and the link ending in OP shows the PPM on-premise documentation.)
  • This change is necessary to prevent the migration of duplicate pages in a future content management system (CMS) planned for 2018.
  • Users can expect to see this change reflected in the 14.2, 14.3, 14.4, 15.1, 15.2, and 15.3 doc sets as early as November 2017 and can expect completion by March 2018.
  • We will continue to monitor best practices for the sourcing, maintenance, technical accuracy, and timely delivery of the PPM product documentation.

Thank you.
