The contents of the Event Log can be saved to a file.
First open the Event Log via Console > Tools > Event Log.
Now File > Save > & either 'Selected', 'Filtered', or 'All Events', or direct in the Console > Logs > Event Log > Save.

Problem with this is the the Event Log window is limited to 1000 lines.
This can be increased via Console > Logs > Event Log > Edit > Set Max Logs.
It is recommended to set it back to the default when done.

However this is still very limited especially if you want to log something for a day or more.
In that case a filter can be added so the desired messages will be saved to the event_log table.
By default all 'Normal' messages are not saved to the event_log table.

To add such a filter go to Console > Config tab > Notifications > Database > Events > Filter Expression:
($event_name like '%CISCO%') OR ($EventSeverity != 'Normal')

Then when ready open a Command Window and enter this command to save the contents of the event_log table to a file.
mysql -P3308 -D nms2 -t -e "select * from event_log" > D:\eventlog.txt
