HASHING on SUBSTRING or CONCATENATED VALUES in FDM

    1. HASHING on splitted values

Currently, HASH function doesn’t support hashing on substring of any field. Since the FDM has already got the substring functionality (Substring Start and Substring length in Summary tab) , can this be extended to hashing on substring of any field where values in Substring start and substring length can be SQL query?  As TDM tool considers copybook or definition file as a table while preparing Transformation map, substring related parameters can be specified there as a
query which Filemaster should convert into mainframe based function.

For example- Let’s say we have “ANKUR SETH” in one database and “A SETH” in other database. Now here, I need hashing on substring ‘SETH’ in order to ensure the masked values are consistent across.

    2. HASHING on CONCATENATED Value

Performing hashing on concatenated value of multiple fields (Let’s say 5 at maximum) where fields can be static value or any column from database  This would be useful where First name and last name are in same column in one data base and in 2 different columns in other. For example, its ANKUR SETH in FULL_NAME column of one database and  ANKUR  in first_Name & SETH in LAST_NAME column of other.

In the second instance, the tool should allow to hash on concatenated value Column First_Name, “ ” (Space) and Last_Name whereas in first instance, its just FULL_NAME which will be used as HASH Column.
