  • 1.  Oneviewmonitor for 12.52 SP2 Policy Server

    Posted Feb 20, 2017 06:27 PM

I'm trying to configure OneView for 12.52 Sp2 Cr1 Policy server on windows 2k12 R2 server. I have installed the Tomcat Apache 7.0.75 as requiredon port 9080 to avoid port clash with WAM UI (now that ServletExec is not installed) and i can see that Tomcat got configured properly. I then ran the ca-ps-config and selected "oneview monitor" and webserver (microsoft IIS 8.0) as well to configure Oneview monitor.

But when i access the url http:127.0.0.1:9080/sitemindermonitor and i get a blank page. I even added the eventsnmp.dll handler in the XPS . Also enabled the Oneviewmonitor in the smconsole as well.

There are no proper instructions on how to configure this now that ServletExec is not supported. Do we still need to configure IIS webserver and then configure it to forward to Tomcat here? or can we access directly from Tomcat on port 9080??

    Help is  apprecaited.

    Thanks

    Hi Anand,

    a) Kindly refer the below link about How to setup OneView Monitor for Siteminder/Single Sign-On 12.52 SP2

    https://communities.ca.com/people/blach12/blog/2016/06/21/how-to-setup-oneview-monitor-for-sitemindersingle-sign-on-1252-sp2

    b) Also verify that OneView Monitor process is started from Policy Server Management Console.

    c) Below command shows whether the one view is up and listening.
    netstat -an|grep :44449
    netstat -an|grep :44450

    Thanks that worked.

I missed the JAVA environment variables. It would be greatly helpful if the documentation can be updated with these instructions .

    Thanks

Also i'm trying to configure a cluster of policy servers and point other policy servers in this environment to this policy server. So in order to achieve this, do i have install Tomcat on all the rest of the policy servers as well and then run the PS config to configure One View Monitor?

    Thanks

    Hi Anand,

The OneViewMonitor can be configured to monitor a Policy Server cluster. To enable this configuration, one Policy Server must be set up as a centralized monitor with the other clustered Policy Servers pointing to it.

In the Primary server - Policy Server Management Console> Settings tab, select Allow Incoming Remote Connections.

This setting allows the centralized Policy Server monitor to accept remote connections from the other clustered Policy Servers.

    Other servers :

For each Policy Server that will point to the monitoring service, open the Policy Server Management Console.

In the Settings tab, under OneView Monitor, select Connect to Remote Monitor.
In the field below, enter the hostname and TCP port number of the system where the monitoring service is configured. For example, server.company.com:44449.

    Refer :
