CA Tuesday Tip: CA WA  DE and Oracle RAC  and Data Guard.

The CA Workload Automation DE R11.3 is ]supported with Oracle 11gR2. The jdbc.URL in db.properties file has to be configured to include all the nodes or hosts of the Oracle RAC. Here is a sample JDBC syntax for an Oracle RAC cluster, the example shows two nodes. If the RAC has more nodes, then add all of them in the URL.
[color=#1406d7]jdbc:oracle:thin:@(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=
(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=myhost1)(PORT=1521))(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)
(HOST=myhost2)(PORT=1521))(FAILOVER=on)(LOAD_BALANCE=off))
(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVER=DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NAME=ORCL_SID)))[color]

The above syntax has also known to work with Oracle Data Guard setup.
