Clarity-Organizer-Action Item-System Error:Contact System Administrator

All our users are getting a error while accessing CLARITY, Action Items tab under
Organizer. The error message is - System Error: Contact System administrator.
We are getting this after we deleted few old process instances that are in
completed status tat were before September 1st, 2013.

 This is impacting all the users as they access 'Action Item' tab for approving timesheets etc.Kindly advice us if you have any solution or workaround.
