A person does not see his timesheets in clarity, while all other team members see theirs.
Have you any idea why ?
I wanted to look in the database but I do not know the name of the table ?
Is that resource open for time entry and track mode set to clarity?
Check if Timesheets has been locked. Please refer to the below links for your reference
Thank you for your response.
I see the table, there is no timesheets locked.
I don't have acces to admin, in which table car i see the track mode and time entry ?
Re: Trackmode / open for time entry - Look at the Resource record in the application (not the database) - it is in the application side (not the admin side).
One last thing that might stop timesheet appearing; I think Clarity tries to be clever and if there are no possible tasks that a resource could book to it doesn't show the timesheet either. (so Project track mode and team&task open for time entry also affect this)
In that case you can check if user is assigned to more than one task or not at Application side>> Resource>> and Allocations TAB. If user is assigned is assigned to more than one task then you should check Resource properties like Tranck mode should be clarity and he should be open for time entry at the Resource in the application side (not the admin side).
Contrary to that I've been just doing adjustment timesheets and in some cases there were no tasks on the timesheets yet no problem seeing them.
My understanding it is a question of the user having rights to enter time to see timesheets for open time periods and rights to approve to see also timesheets for closed periods and the resource to be open for Clarity time entry for the timesheets to appear on the list with no or appropriate filtering.
@Martti: Very much correct. The user needs to have proper Timesheet Enter Rights to view Timesheets in addition to setting the Open for Time Entry to be True and changing the Track Mode to Clarity.
All replies have covered everything related to the visibility of Timesheets. However, one must also take into consideration the Task Start Date and the Task End Date to make sure that it has been properly entered and not causing a hindrance to viewing a particular Task on the related Timesheet.
Well I do have a question for all please. I don't quite understand the concept of Track Mode. I know that there are 3 types: Clarity, None and Other, where Clarity means the CA Clarity PPM Application, Other means some other Software Application integrated with Clarity and None means nothing. How does these 3 Track Modes affect the viewing of a certain Timesheet in CA Clarity PPM Application or otherwise? Thank you every one in advance!
@Suhail - sorry but I disagree slightly with your statement (the one underlined) - this is only relevant when you are talking about whether a particular task appears / does not appear on a timesheet and not whether the timesheet itself can / can not be seen in the application.
As for "trackmode" I think your comment (in bold) answers itself - unless the relevant trackmode (at resource and/or project level) is set to "Clarity" then the resource's timesheet / project's tasks just do not appear on a Clarity timesheet.
@Dave: Thank you. Regarding the underlined statement, if you go through it once again, I actually meant viewing a Task within a Timesheet and not the Timesheet itself. It has happened with many Clarity users in the past that they are unable to view their Tasks within a Timesheet, hence, I decided to share this tip. I am quite aware that this has nothing to do with viewing a Timesheet for a particular resource. All the replies just confirm the answer to the original query asked.
you would set track mode to None when say the resource is assigned to tasks but for some reason you do not want them to log time just yet
Here is a list that I typically follow when troubleshooting why a resource's timesheet doesn't show up on the Timesheets list
- resource has track mode of Clarity, has 'Open for Time Entry' checked under the resource properties
- project has the above settings on the schedule sub page
- on the Team page, configure the Open for Time column to show on the staff list, see if this resource has a checkmark for this column
- on the task list page, check that the task has a checkmark for Open for Time Entry
- on the timesheets page, clear all filter fields (set resource active to 'all', etc), highlight all timesheet status, put in specific date range so that closed periods will show as well, then filter for the resource name/id
* if the admin can see the timesheet but the resource can't, then check the resource's access rights
these worked 99% of the time :)
