Discussion Tab Not accessible to some

We just upgraded from Clarity 7.5.1 to 8.1, and some users report that they are not able to access the discussion tab. Different scenarios occur. For some the status flashes and nothing happens. For others, status looks like working and then times out and kicks out of Clarity altogether. Others can access but response time is very slow. Anyone have any ideas what would cause this for some and not for others?[left]
