Dynamic lookup using a URL variable

I have a custom object, which is a subobject to the project object. Now, I want to create a dynamic lookup from an attribute field in this custom object. The lookup query is supposed to use the project ID of the project the user has currently selected to filter the results for the dropdown field or browse window. I found code that works for portlets, but it sure does not work for my little lookup.  Here is the filter section of NSQL to populate the lookup (Q is the alias for the ODF_*** table):  AND       Q.ODF_PARENT_ID = @WHERE:PARAM:XML:INTEGER:/data/projectId/@value@    If I hardcode the   ODF_PARENT_ID value, the query will work perfectly, so the problem lies with the variable value extraction from the URL. "projectId" is a valid URL variable. I have no idea what else to try.  Thanks in advance for any tips!
