February 12, 2015    10:01:28 AM    from Chris Hackett (CA) to All Participants:Hi All - We'll be starting in just a few minutes. Please hold your questions until we announce the start. Thanks!

February 12, 2015    10:06:10 AM    from Chris Hackett (CA) to All Participants:OK Let's go ahead and start. Be sure to send questions to All Participants.

February 12, 2015    10:06:22 AM    from Stephen Forney to All Participants:Does anyone know where to locate the Log Analyzer package?  (aka Apache Tomcat Log Analysis Package)

The CA Clarity PPM 14.1: Supportability and Check Install Updates 200 course (33CLR23240) discusses the Log Analyzer functionality and the speaker indicated that the Log Analyzer would be placed on “The Community” for access.  Furthermore, the speaker indicated that the Log Analyzer would be “packaged up” using the new 14.1 feature - Studio Content Manager (SCM).

I have search the community and cannot find any reference to the Log Analyzer JAR file (Loganalysis_1.0.0_20140926111543) that was referenced in the course (33CLR23240).

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Stephen Forney

February 12, 2015    10:06:57 AM    from lino e to All Participants:Does anyone have a list of common issues/errors experienced during upgrading? We are planning to do some trial run upgrades from 13.0 to 14.1 in anticipation of the 14.2 release

February 12, 2015    10:07:44 AM    from Damon Logiudice (CA) to All Participants:@lino e Definitely you want to consult the Change Impact and Upgrade Guide with the documentation.

February 12, 2015    10:08:04 AM    from Atul Kunkulol to All Participants:Financial Department change - For old WIP transactions, what is the best way to update the financial department if the resource has changed the departments? WIP adjustment does not provide any option to select department. These are for timesheet transactions

February 12, 2015    10:13:45 AM    from Nika Hadzhikidi (CA) to All Participants:@Stephen : I apologize for the delay to answer to this : I know you asked about it last time:  we are still looking into it and will update you by email. I will check on this again today and will try getting you the update asap.

February 12, 2015    10:13:59 AM    from Stephen Forney to All Participants:Is there a target release date for the 14.2 Release

February 12, 2015    10:14:23 AM    from Damon Logiudice (CA) to All Participants:@lino e see https://support.ca.com/cadocs/0/CA%20Clarity%20PPM%2014%201%2000%20%20On%20Premise%20-ENU/Bookshelf_Files/HTML/chgimpact/index.htm -- content is broken out by release

February 12, 2015    10:14:24 AM    from Stephen Forney to All Participants:@Nika >> Thanks!! Much Appreciated!!!

February 12, 2015    10:15:25 AM    from Martti K. to All Participants:@Nika Please putthe answer also on the communtiy discussion

February 12, 2015    10:16:45 AM    from Nika Hadzhikidi (CA) to All Participants:@Martti, thanks, this is good idea.

February 12, 2015    10:17:33 AM    from Martti K. to All Participants:@Nika There is a thread for that, Stephen asked that there, too

February 12, 2015    10:18:15 AM    from Chris Hackett (CA) to All Participants:Ready for more questions!

February 12, 2015    10:18:21 AM    from Stephen Forney to All Participants:@Nika The thread is ....  Log Analyzer Package (aka Apache Tomcat Log Analysis Package)

February 12, 2015    10:18:30 AM    from Kate Holland (ca) to All Participants:@Stephen -Dansborg 2 is targeted to be released by the end of the quarter - Product Management will be posting an announcement in the near future

February 12, 2015    10:19:07 AM    from Connie Fu (CA) to All Participants:@Atul, there are 3 department values on a WIP transaction. If you set the WIP Settings to point to Resource/Emplyee, and then make the WIP adjustment, the transaction's department should be changed to the resource department. This may not be true for the resource department on the WIP transaction

February 12, 2015    10:19:32 AM    from Stephen Forney to All Participants:@Kate >> Thanks!! Will be looking for the anouncements.  Good to hear from you again. end

February 12, 2015    10:20:01 AM    from Connie Fu (CA) to All Participants:@Atul in general, WIP adjustments do not dynamically update project or resource department. It is an enhancement request

February 12, 2015    10:21:20 AM    from Nika Hadzhikidi (CA) to All Participants:@Martti, @Stephen, I see: Let me check if there is an update I can provide and I'll update this thread.

February 12, 2015    10:21:27 AM    from Atul Kunkulol to All Participants:@Connie. Thanks. So if we have to update it, what is the recommended approach? Would SQL update be supported?

February 12, 2015    10:21:50 AM    from Connie Fu (CA) to All Participants:@Atul, no SQL update is supported

February 12, 2015    10:23:04 AM    from Damon Logiudice (CA) to All Participants:Repeating Q to all participants: Hi - In v14.1 Portfolio Management waterline view, is it possible to extend the dates for investments - rather than shifting them - for "what if" analysis?

February 12, 2015    10:23:32 AM    from Chris Hackett (CA) to All Participants:Be sure to send questions to All Participants.

February 12, 2015    10:24:29 AM    from Srini Venkat to All Participants:Sorry .. didn't notice the different options for All Attendees vs All Participants

February 12, 2015    10:24:58 AM    from Atul Kunkulol to All Participants:@connie. That was my assumption as well. So the only option we have found works is by adjusting the timesheet, but that takes several steps. Is that recommended option?

February 12, 2015    10:26:53 AM    from Srini Venkat to All Participants:In v14.1 Projects or Ideas -> Cost Plans, is it possible to setup a template for the cost plan detail that presents a preset list of charge codes and trx classes to the user - instead of each user having to select them?

February 12, 2015    10:27:53 AM    from Stephen Forney to All Participants:@Srini >> Yes

February 12, 2015    10:28:45 AM    from Stephen Forney to All Participants:@Srini >> Yes the technique is to go to the Entity >> "Plan Defaults" tab ... and set them there.

February 12, 2015    10:30:29 AM    from Stephen Forney to All Participants:@Srini >> This will let you set the "Grouping Attributes" ...

February 12, 2015    10:31:47 AM    from Connie Fu (CA) to All Participants:@Atul by adjustment timesheets the system is actually processing new transactions rather than updating existing, so that will work to get the WIP records to have the department you need. It is the safe route to take, and currently we're not aware of any other method that would reduce the steps for you

February 12, 2015    10:34:53 AM    from Chris Hackett (CA) to All Participants:Any more questions out there?

February 12, 2015    10:35:28 AM    from Srini Venkat to All Participants:Thanks @Stephen

February 12, 2015    10:35:40 AM    from Srini Venkat to All Participants:My question about waterline views is still pending

February 12, 2015    10:35:41 AM    from Srini Venkat to All Participants:thanks

February 12, 2015    10:36:07 AM    from Connie Fu (CA) to All Participants:@Srini we're looking into this question

February 12, 2015    10:38:01 AM    from Srini Venkat to All Participants:@Stephen - I checked the Plan defaults ... my requirement is a bit more detailed. I am hoping to present the user with the list of charge codes and trx classes already selected for them - e.g. cap & exp, h/w, s/w, expense etc. - so the user is presented with a grid when they go to the detail page first time and they can enter the numbers directly.

February 12, 2015    10:38:49 AM    from Srini Venkat to All Participants:I can think of implementing this through a workflow / gel script step ... but it doesn't look like it can be handled through configuration

February 12, 2015    10:40:02 AM    from Damon Logiudice (CA) to All Participants:@Martti had, not so much a question, as a comment on the communities recently about BAC and our definition was budget at completion for OWB documentation but it was also listed as "baseline at completion" for CA Clarity PPM and it made we wonder as I too have always assumed BAC was strictly Budget At Completion. Do we recognize a separate metric called baseline at completion in Clarity or are we saying the same thing budget at completion = baseline at completion?

February 12, 2015    10:42:34 AM    from Liz Williamson (CA) to All Participants:@srini - we did some research on the portfolio question and would like you to enter a case so we can verify this is working as designed

February 12, 2015    10:42:49 AM    from Srini Venkat to All Participants:Thanks @Liz

February 12, 2015    10:43:19 AM    from Damon Logiudice (CA) to All Participants:@Martti - the team of experts here discussed and confirmed it is budget at completion (BAC), but the attribute appears on the Baselines page, sorry for any minor confusion there.

February 12, 2015    10:45:15 AM    from Chris Hackett (CA) to All Participants:OK Folks - We're wrapping up here. Please be sure to join us in March for the next Office Hours. Thank you all for participating today!

February 12, 2015    10:45:38 AM    from Martti Kinnunen to All Participants:@Damon that sounds better I am not ready to buy baseline at completition. Wht would be the purpose   of that? Baseline  is your refeience point. If you take it at completition whatare you going to compare to it?

February 12, 2015    10:46:13 AM    from Martti Kinnunen to All Participants:Also atcompletition your current plan is noit going  to change anymore so you do not need a baseline.

February 12, 2015    10:49:44 AM    from Damon Logiudice (CA) to All Participants:@Martti -- we are looking into this as a possible doc bug (BAC). Thank you!

February 12, 2015    10:50:14 AM    from Chris Hackett (CA) to All Participants:Thanks Everyone!
