Solution for monitong Linux Load Average

Discussion created by justin.hannan on Oct 11, 2008
Just thought I'd post a logmon profile, just in case anyone wants to alert/QOS the loadavg on a Linux box.

Profile: LoadAVG
Mode: Command
Command: cat /proc/loadavg | awk '{print $1" "$2" "$3}'

Watcher Rule: LoadAvgDefinition
Match Expression: *
Message to send on match: 1 Minute Load Average - $L1 is above threshold.
  • L1 (Source = Column 1), with a threshold of n set
  • L2 (Source = Column 2)
  • L3 (Source = Column 3)
Send Clear Alarm: ticked
