Getting robot to start on old bash versions

Discussion created by jonhcw on May 13, 2013

Don't know if anyone else has come across this problem, but I recently had to install agent on some great old linux boxes that are the kind you shouldn't update. The init.d script for launching or stopping robot doesn't work there, so I had to modify the script a little to get it up and running. These were Red Hat servers. I thought I'd post the edits in case anyone else came across this.

I did these modifications on lines 27, 30, 117 and 119.

The original lines looked like this:

26 #red hat 27 if [[ "$OS_NAME" =~ "Red Hat" ]]; then 28 . /etc/rc.d/init.d/functions 29 #suse 30 elif [[ "$OS_NAME" =~ "SUSE" ]]; then 31 . /lib/lsb/init-functions 32 fi

and here's how I modified them:

26 #red hat 27 if [[ -n `echo $OS_NAME | grep "Red Hat"` ]]; then 28 . /etc/rc.d/init.d/functions 29 #suse 30 elif [[ -n `echo $OS_NAME | grep "SUSE"` ]]; then 31 . /lib/lsb/init-functions 32 fi

They seem to work fine now.
