dirscan time/date primitives?

We need to use dircan to monitor for the existence of a specific log file which uses a date format naming convention: logname.YYYY-MM-DD.

We are able to successfully check for the file existence of the file successfully using the exact name of the file in the "Patten" field of the "Scan directory" tab, but as soon as we use the date primitives to monitor for "logname.%Y-%m-%d" in the pattern field, dirscan cannot find the file.

Anyone else had any issues / experience?

(Monitoring being attempted on a Solaris machine, if that matters...)
