sql_response - clean up $value alerts

A SQL query is issued to check for the last row of the table which contains a several columns - date, filename, status, etc.  Using the Value tab on the probe, I am creating an alert with the filename in the message - $profile - Last file = $value.

Purpose - file should be created atleast every 2 hours, if not send email.  The issue I am running into is that a new alert is created each time because the filename is different, it never clears.
Alarm queue -
1:00pm alert1 - filename1
1:30pm alert2 - filename2,  etc

I had set up preprocessing filters but then it would remove too early or too many emails are sent because overdue age meets AO profile req..
How do I go about clearing up the alarm queue without closing the most recent?
Should I set up triggers?

Open to ideas.  Thanks.
