nas - Running a command every 15 minutes

Hi again,

We have a need to run a particular command every 15 minutes (regardless of what messages are coming into the nas). This is because we have had problems with nas not responding so we want to send a 'heartbeat' to our iSeries boxes to check it has not died.

What we have tried at the moment is setting up an auto operator with nothing in it apart from the command and setting the action of 'on every interval' to 15m.

This does not appear to run as we expect and appears to run the command every time a message hits the nas. I've included a few entries from the nas log.

Jul 22 11:48:34:029  nas: Execute command: 'c:\Windows\system32\cscript.exe', \cscript.exe c:\NimBUS\FWDTOAOS\nimSendHeartbeat.js arguments: 'cscript.exe c:\NimBUS\FWDTOAOS\nimSendHeartbeat.js'
Jul 22 11:48:34:045  nas: Execute command: 'c:\Windows\system32\cscript.exe', \cscript.exe c:\NimBUS\FWDTOAOS\nimSendHeartbeat.js arguments: 'cscript.exe c:\NimBUS\FWDTOAOS\nimSendHeartbeat.js'
Jul 22 11:48:34:138  nas: Executing command: c:\Windows\system32\cscript.exe
Jul 22 11:48:34:154  nas: Execute command: 'c:\Windows\system32\cscript.exe', \cscript.exe c:\NimBUS\FWDTOAOS\nimSendHeartbeat.js arguments: 'cscript.exe c:\NimBUS\FWDTOAOS\nimSendHeartbeat.js'
Jul 22 11:48:34:154  nas: Executing command: c:\Windows\system32\cscript.exe
Jul 22 11:48:34:388  nas: Execute command: 'c:\Windows\system32\cscript.exe', \cscript.exe c:\NimBUS\FWDTOAOS\nimSendHeartbeat.js arguments: 'cscript.exe c:\NimBUS\FWDTOAOS\nimSendHeartbeat.js'
Jul 22 11:48:34:591  nas: ExecEvent: PASSED rule='Send heartbeat to AOS', trigger='internal', nimid=XT45967281-56665, age=10162s, ACTION:command

Does anyone know if this should be the way to do what I am trying to achieve or what the correct way of doing it is.

Thanks
Dean
