It seems like the documentation lacks a complete set of uninstall directions as we cannot reinstall after uninstalling. The following are insufficient uninstall instructions (we think):

1

Verify that the DXAgent service is down – if it not, then kill it

ps -ef | grep java| grep –v grep

kill $( ps -ef | grep java | grep DxAgentService | cut -b9-15)

ps -ef | grep java| grep –v grep

The process should be gone

2

Navigate to the Directory Server Home’s uninstall folder

cd /opt/CA/Directory/dxserver/uninstall

Takes you to the desired directory

3

Run uninstaller

./dxuninst.sh

A wizard appears – answer the following on the consecutive screens:

Req’d Components

all

Req’d Components

go

Are you sure?

y

Bckup of config dir?

n

Bckup of datastore files?

n

Runs uninstaller

4

Navigate to /opt folder

cd /opt

Takes you to the desired directory

5

Remove the Java symbolic links, JDK Folder, and the CA folder

ls

rm -rf java64

rm -rf jdk-7u40-linux-x64/

rm –rf /opt/CA

ls

The ls command should reveal that the link is gone

8

Remove files from root directory

cd ~

ls

mv ~/*rtf    ~/archive

mv ~/*.log    ~/archive

ls

If archive file does not exists issue the following command and re-execute this step:

mkdir archive

The ls command should reveal that the relevant files are gone.

9

Restart the server

shutdown -r now

This should restart the server

Any help would be greatly appreciated
