CA Security Tuesday Tip: (PIM -  Privileged Identity Management): How to make sure that the Policyfetcher always restarts properly in Windows environment after killing the process from the Task Manager

CA (PIM -  Privileged Identity Management) Tuesday Tip by Reatesh Sanghi, Principal Support Engineer for June 9, 2015.

 

To make sure that the policyfetcher service restarts always after this is killed from the task manager, check for the following Registry Key value. The values provided in here can be modified for troubleshooting purposes.

 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ComputerAssociates\AccessControl\Applications\Policyfetcher\RestartApplication the value for this has to be 1.

 

OperationMode

Specifies whether the application is active (1).

Default: 1

 

RestartApplication

Specifies whether the application will be restarted (1) if it has been closed or terminated.

Default: 1

 

StartAplication

Specifies whether CA ControlMinder be starts the application (1) when the Watchdog wakes up.

Default: 1
