Tuesday Tips:   Recommended ANT Version to Use with DevTest

Discussion created by MarcyNunns Employee on Jul 6, 2015

Linux Redhat 6 has built-in ant-1.7.1.

This is incompatible with DevTest 8.0.0 and above.

You will get errors like this in the XML report:

<error message="com.itko.lisa.testing.JUnitRunLISA" type="java.lang.ClassNotFoundException">

java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.itko.lisa.testing.JUnitRunLISA at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:366) at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:355) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:354) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:425) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:308) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:358) at java.lang.Class.forName0(Native Method) at java.lang.Class.forName(Class.java:190)

</error>

Or error like this is the build output:

[antlib:org.apache.tools.ant] Could not load definitions from resource org/apache/tools/ant/antlib.xml. It could not be found.

Recommended version to use is ant-1.9.5
