After acknowledging the alarms in UMP where does the Alarm goes .whether it is hidden in background?
Active alarms exist in the NAS_ALARMS table. Alarms also exist in two other tables:
When you acknowledge an alarm, it is removed from the NAS_ALARMS table. Depending on how your nas is configured, the data will still exist for a while in the other two tables. The default is something along the lines of 7 days of transaction log and 30 for transaction summary, if I'm not mistaken.
These tables (along with some other) exist in nas's sqlite database and are synced to the NIS database from there. These days that synchronization is pretty much real time. If you access alarms from IM tool, it will get the alarms from the nas. If you access alarms through USM tool in UMP, it will get them directly from the database. I believe the old alarm console in UMP also gets them from the nas.
All three tools provide the ability to view historic alarms.
