We have de-activated one Resource object custom field in Clarity but it is still showing when project is opened in OWB.
Please, let us know what can be the reason behind this.
Thanks Dave and Urmas for Suggestions.
The issue has got solved. It was related to application cache.
After restart of all the services in all servers, de-activated field is no more appearing in the OWB.
"Reason" - thats just the way it works perhaps?
Try deleting (not just inactivating) the attribute if you need it really gone.
My understanding is that you can only deactivate custom fields, ie only they have the check box for selecting for and action.
The way OWB works with custom fields is the first time you open a project with a custom field OWB has not seen before it creates the field (somewhere, maybe in the registry).
After that the field is there regardless of whether of future projects have that field or data in it.
If you have put that field in a view you will still have in the view after deactivation even if the projects do not have that
I have not seen this question before. Usually users ask how to see new custom fields.
Dropping the field from the views is simple re-modify, but removing it alltogether so that it does not appear in the list of fields and advanced properties is something different.
I don't know if that can be done as long as the field exists in the databas (odf_ca_project, odf_ca_task etc.)
^ that does ring-a-bell (in that OWB 'remembers' what an object looks like). Hmmm
If you (Pragya) tried opening the plan on a clean install of OWB (really clean, like on a PC that has never had OWB installed) what happens?
