Hi Team,

Whenever I access the service desk console using web.url at Primary server, it access the URL which I set in the web host value during the Primary server configuration. But in case of Secondary server, we don't have the option to set the web host value. So when I access the service desk console using web.url at Secondary server, it accesses the URL based on hostname of secondary server or localhost. How can I change this value in case of Secondary server?

Kindly provide a solution for this.

Hi Balram,

Did you check that you have the wanted URL  in your web.cfg?

this is set in "RedirectingURL"

well I'm not sure I fully follow you. can you give little more info on your config, release and what you are trying to archive?

Also did you configure a web director? Are you using a load balancer?

What are the value of your web.url?

Hi Jmayer,

I am using SD 14.1.0.2, and configured 1 web director on primary server along with 2 web engine on primary and 2 web engine on secondary with tomcat and IIS (default server) configuration.

In my scenario web director is only load balancer.

And in nx.env file @NX_WEB_CGI_URL variable value on primary is  http://servicedesk.test.co.in:80/CAisd/pdmweb.exe and on secondary @NX_WEB_CGI_URL variable value on secondary is http://servicedesk2.test.co.in:80/CAisd/pdmweb.exe

Still after above configuration, whenever i am hitting servicedesk url for primary server it is working fine but for secondary it is taking server host name (http://sdmsecserver.test.co.in:80/CAisd/pdmweb.exe) instead off http://servicedesk2.test.co.in:80/CAisd/pdmweb.exe.

Yes back to my original please verify you redirecting URL in your web.cfg on your secondary server.

Mostly referring the hostname and you will need to change it to your dns name

So you are referring this in web.cfg....

# RedirectingURL specifies the full URL for redirecting the request to

# the webengine. By default, it uses 'CAisd' and the value set for the

# Cgi variable to construct the URL.

# If this webengine uses SSL connection, the protocol, https, needs to

# be added to the URL, for example,

# RedirectingURL https://<machine name>/<cgi directory>/<cgi name>

RedirectingURL http://servicedesk2.test.co.in/CAisd/pdmweb.exe

does it require service restart ?

yes that correct and yes, you will need to restart your secondary for the change to take effect

After changing value of redirectingURL only on secondary server it is not working, i am still getting http://sdmsecserver.test.co.in:80/CAisd/pdmweb.exe

based on the machine host name.

Hi again .we may need to look more into your config but you mentioned that you have 2 web engine on this server.

Did you made the change for both?

you must have something like <hostname>-web1.cfg and/or <hostname>-web2.cfg

Its working now.
