How can we convert multiple ideas together in one-go in a type of investment?
It is not straight forward.
Here is an approach which will work -
Create a custom boolean field on Idea. Call it convert idea to project flag.
Then write two gel processes.
First one will select all the qualified ideas and will XOG a "1" to the idea to each one.
Second process which will autostart when the flag is changed to 1 from 0 (make sure you compare new and previous values). This process will convert the idea to project. It will be triggered automatically when the first process will be kicked off.
Hi Uruj - Did Atul.Kunkulol's response help answer your question? If so please mark as Correct Answer. Thanks!
Also, you could just create a process for the Idea Object to convert it to a project. Create a new Actions Menu in the Idea list page to initiate the process. From the Idea list page, select the Ideas that you would want to convert and then click on the Action menu to initiate the conversion process. The downside of this approach is that the Ideas to be converted should be in the same page of the list view or you will have to set up filters to easily identify the ideas.
Thanks Sankhadeep and Atul.
Then that means through XOG we can convert idea status from "Approved" to "Converted"?
I would recommend using the Process OOTB System Action -> Convert Idea to Project. That will set the Idea status to Converted.
You should note that attributes which are at the Investment level will be copied over to Project by the above method. If you have the attributes created just at the Idea and Project level which needs to be copied over from Idea to Project, you could write a XOG script and put that in the process after the convert action. The best way would be to move the attributes to the Investment object.
