anyone has a document to change the service desk hostname, CA service Desk 12.5?
We need to create a DEV environment, and this environment is a copy of the PRD environment.
CA Service Desk 12.5 has went end of life quite a few years ago now. The current version of the product is CA Service Desk Manager 14.1. As for your question, if you are using EEM, BOXI, or have any other CA or 3rd party applications integrated with CA Service Desk, then changing the hostname is NOT recommended. If you are solely using CA Service Desk and nothing else, then you can simply change the hostname, and then run pdm_configure, and you should be good to go. What I would recommend is taking a VMware snapshot (if its on a VM) prior to making that type of change just in case something doesnt work after, it can be rolled back. Additionally, i HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you do something like this in a test environment that is a close replica of your production first.
In addition to what Jon_Israel already said, if it's a VM image then make sure you disable the network interface until you're done with the changes. You wouldn't want the copied image connecting to the original database and modifying the live data, would you?
