Weblogic agent

Discussion created by Karim_Azzouzi_8427 on Feb 27, 2017
In the doc about the weblogic jmx agent, there is a part to use the URL <weblogic server><port> to connect the remote jmx server.
but we need to add t3:// at the beginning of the URL to start the remote jmx batch.

What is the reason for this? Is it not possible to start the remote jmx batch without this t3 protocol?

T3 is the protocol used to transport information between WebLogic servers and other types of Java programs. WebLogic keeps track of every Java virtual machine connected to the application. To carry traffic to the Java virtual machine, WebLogic creates a single T3 connection. This type of connection maximizes efficiency by eliminating multiple protocols used to communicate between networks, thereby using fewer operating system resources. The protocol used for the T3 connection also enhances efficiency and minimizes packet sizes, increasing the speed of the delivery method, as it's states in documentation connecting to Weblogic server must be initiated with this protocol ,then it's mandatory to run your JMX batch.
