MS SQL and Application Name

Discussion created by Claus_Jambrich_5663 on Aug 7, 2017
Your Question:
Is it possible to apply an Application Name for an MS SQL connection?

Our Answer:
For this we have the field Additional parameter, tab Connection Properties. For MS SQL you can enter ApplicationName as Parameter and some name, e.g. MySQLApplication as Value:

Create an SQL-Job with this Connection-Object. You can enter some simple SQL-Quesry (e.g. select count(*) from uc_versi) and add the command

SELECT APP_NAME()

to see the application name. The result is:

Without supplying an Parameter in the Connection-Object, you "only" see the standard Application Name.
