Hi all,

I am looking into using the

nbi_project_res_task_facts table as it contains fields for Actual Effort, ETC, Cost and Bill Rate.

When I query it, however, the cost and billrate are always NULL

Can anyone tell me how I can get these values to display?

thanks in advance,

Matt

Rate Matrix Extraction Job

This job extracts rate matrix information and populates the rate matrix

extraction tables. Run this job each time the rate matrix has changed, when the

financial properties of a project have changed, or when resources have been

added to an investment.

Rate Matrix Extraction Job

This job extracts rate matrix information and populates the rate matrix extraction

tables. Run this job each time the rate matrix has changed, when the financial

properties of a project have changed. There is no need to run the job when a resource is

added to an investment.

Therefore in v12.0. SP6 and earlier my recollection is that the suggestion was to run the job every hour.

People who do simple budgeting in OWB wanted to run the job every 10 or 15 minutes.

I am not happy with the v12.1 SP 1 statement, because according to Tech ref of v12.1 resource_id is in NBI_PROJ_RES_RATES_AND_COSTS and I don't see that getting populated with a new resource unless the Rate matrix job is run.

What I meant was that when you have posted your timesheets you have new entries in imp_transactionimport with the timeentry data. Then you are going to Post transactions to financials and then you have to have all the rates and costs available so the Rate matrix job has to be run any time between the time resource are added to investments or there are new investment financial properties and Posting transactions to financials.

So no help there.

There are at least three schools of Clarity reporting (and usually every one considers being the only correct one)

1) Use slices for the time dependent data, there is a problem if the slices are not up to date or are corrupted and you need other data as well and that may require lots of calculations

2) Use the data in WIP, that would require all the postings to be done without errors and data left behind

3) Use datamart, that would require even more successful processing before the data is available, but there is time dependent, aggregate, hours, quantity and money

Personally I tend to use the slices. I have not done that much reporting on money, but using PPA_WIP and PPA_WIP_VALUES gives the data with less calculations than taking the data from slices and (re)calculating the monetary values.
