They are saying that none of your page ranges for any database area can
have
a page number greater than 16,777,215.

You would exceed this value if you were using the ""floating radiix""
feature
which gives you more database pages at the expense of fewer records per
database page. Chances are good you are not using this feature.

Do a LOOK DMCL SORTED PAGES
at ENTER NEXT TASK CODE.

Thanks.

Subject: 24-bit database keys

Hi all,

I'm looking at a product which interfaces with IDMS, and the product
manual
says that it works ""...only for CA-IDMS databases that use 24-bit
database
keys.""

Could someone please tell me what I need to check, in order to
confirm
whether or not our databases have 24-bit database keys.

Thanks very much.

PS: I'm an IDMS newbie, and this might not be at all relevant... but
when
I
look inside our IDMS.LOADLIB, there is a bunch of modules called
""IDDMRKY1""
through to ""IDDMRKY8"", as well as ""IDDPRKY1"" through to ""IDDPRKY8"",
and
inside the load it says, ""Relational Keys"" and ""Attribute Module"".
AND
all
of these load modules have been linked as Amode 31. Nevertheless, I'm
guessing that someone will point me to some actual Source module/s,
and
the
definitions will lie therein.

PPS: We have non-SQL databases.

Excellent command.

Thanks Jon.

V14 vs. V16 and CICS front ends
"A quick question for the list:

We're going from V14.1 to V16 (SP3, I think). I've got a CICS that talks
to two different CV's. I know that the V14 CICS interface will not work
with a 16 CV, but will a 16 front end talk to a 14 back end. The real
question is do I need to upgrade both CV's at once, or can I do one at a
time??

All thoughts greatly and gratefully appreciated.
