IDMS/PC

Discussion created by ca.portal.admin on May 9, 2007
Hi List,

Many years ago there was a product called IDMS/PC (or TAB). Does anyone
know if this product is still available? Can it handle IDMS 14.1 databases?
Was it a DOS only product? Are there any similar products on the market
that can read an IDMS database file and make sense of it?

Cheers

Re: DMCL JCL
"It's really not hard to create a new region. If you have one shutdown
you can use IEBGENER to copy all the system, journal, and sysctl
datasets to a new allocated one. Then create copies of any STEPLIB and
CDSMLIB dd's. You could then bring your new CV and punch out the global
DMCL, edit it removing any segments not needed, compile/link it under
CV. You would have to do the same for you global dbname table too. You
could also copy an secondary application dictionary and just clean it
up. You don't have to run any of this in local mode this way.
