Re:support-connect?

Discussion created by ca.portal.admin on May 21, 2007
is anyone (else) having problems using the ""new"" support connect?

i cannot get the ""my products"" to populate the dropdown menu in either
the knowledgebase or ""open new issue"" processes - making usage quite
difficult ...

To answer your question an IBM DBDC speed and efficiency study states TRAP

Subject
COBOL LE question

Sometimes when researching a problem with DC-COBOL, the CA support
technician will have me assemble a special version of 'CEEUOPT' with
""TRAP=OFF"". I always back this off after the problem is resolved.
However, I have noticed that it gives better information about any
DC-COBOL abends during that time, not just the one we are researching.

Is there any reason not to run with ""TRAP=OFF"" all the time? Does it
hurt performance, or have any other drawback?

Re: Areas unlocked while a cv has it in update mode
"Rene,

The vary area has a purge option that can be used to flush the buffers, I have not used it myself, maybe someone else on the list has? From 16.0 System Task and Operator Commands:

The DCMT VARY AREA command allows you To:

Change the status of an area

Open or close the files associated with an area

Flush the buffers associated with the area

PUrge
