Re: Mysterious occurrences of 0226 status code

That's an interesting thought, but I don't think Operations would know
how to do a restore of these datasets. I'm the only one that does
restores.

Operations hasn't done a restore without your knowledge have they?

Happened to me a long time ago when we had DASD problems. We did a
restore from backup images, did the roll forward, backed up again,
tested and everything was OK. Went home 7AM Sunday morning. IDMS
stayed up and at 9 AM DASD took a hit again. The disk was fixed, and
operations restored the Disk from backup taken after the rollforward.
""We know/knew no-one was using the system so we just restored the disk.""
Right - people were on and we got hit with a number of broken chains.

If this were to happen at my current shop, your exact symptoms would
show up.

For what it's worth,

Dick
