you only need to test the programs that you want to work correctly

Re: CICS 0C4 Abends
"well - this particular CV is a back-end for a lot of CICS and CV
front-ends - so almost NO program pools - and r 17 seems to require less
below the line than previous releases

RHDCPARM FREESTG RELEASED... 4,000K
REGION NEEDED TO START UP... 8,572K
TOTAL AMOUNT OF XA STORAGE.. 116,496K
SYSTEM CONFIGURATION SIZE... 121,064K
STORAGE RETURNED TO OPSYS... 124K

i have always wondered is there a ""magic"" number for STORAGE RETURNED TO
OPSYS - i try to keep it under (but close to) 250K - so perhaps this needs
some attention -

from what i read - the storage released at RHDCPARM FREESTG RELEASED goes
to the top of 16-bit memory where the storage released at STORAGE RETURNED
TO OPSYS. goes to the bottom of memery - and the former is more ""usable""
during the life of the CV than the latter - so I try to keep STORAGE
RETURNED TO OPSYS. as low as possible

Re: CICS 0C4 Abends
"Hi Chris,

90-04-1010 contains a lot of information related to Freestg and Storage
returned to OPSYS, and also contains a recommendation on how these
should be set. There is no magic value.
