MS Project Kicking Off Process?

Hi all...
I have a conditional process that runs under the following conditions -
Custom project field A has been modified and has a new value.
Custom field A does not equal custom field B.

Works like a charm. Except...
It is also getting triggered when the PM opens the project in MS Project and adds roles.
There are no changes made to the A or B field values, so why is this happening?
How can I make it stop?

As you can imagine, this is very frustrating.
I suppose I could check off the 'only one process instance' field, but I would like to solve this issue at the root. (Especially since the field may change again while the first process is running and I would want a second process to run under those conditions.)
Any help would be much appreciated!
Andrea
