Re:Strange DCMT DIS AREA problem

Discussion created by ca.portal.admin on Jan 13, 2010
Hello All:

We can't display an individual area for some reason in a specific
segment?
We can display an individual file but we can't display and individual
area in only one segment?

As I said we can display an individual area in every segment except this
one, the segment name is SORD, the DMCL has no problems, we can do a
PRINT SPACE with no problems we just cannot do a DCMT DIS AREA on the
areas in this one segment and we have eye balled the segment with many
of the other segments and there is no differences?

Anyone ever seen this one?

They are 16.0 SP7 in a DOS/VSE environment.

If you put the area name in quotes it will work - otherwise the DCMT
command is translating this as command:

DISPLAY AREAS SORTED BY NAME/PAGES

I get the error if I try that command too, and of course I don't even
have a SORD segment.

It looks like the error aligns on the ""D"" in SORD. My guess is that IDMS
is thinking you are entering a DCMT D AREA SORTED BY command, and not
liking it when it sees the ""D"" in ""SORD"" instead of a ""T"" as in ""SORT"".

I think you need to report this one.
