A good way to monitor and keep track of your database usage for CA 11 is to set the DBWARN
configuration parameter appropriately for your site. This parameter will allow you to specify the
warning level that the space monitor task uses to display database usage when over the specified
value. The default is 80 for 80%. Should you desire a different value, please set
appropriately at your site. Once the DBWARN value has been exceeded you will receive a message
similar to the following:

*U11D-8200-5  SSN=CAL7 DBID=0601 AREA=STP AT  91% USED

This message will be followed by:

U11D-8200-6 EXTENTS=nn DSN=hlq.***601
U11D-8200-7 VOLUME=vvvvvv FREE CYLINDERS=cccc
Keep in mind that the space monitor tell report percentage used based on the current allocation only.

Another method of monitoring and keeping track of your CA 11 database usage is with
the Datacom DBUTLTY. The Datacom DBUTLTY utility has greater accuracy when the
REPORT TYPE=A is specified as in the sample job below:

COMM OPTION=STATS,DBID=601
REPORT AREA=CXX,DBID=601,TYPE=A

//RPTPXX EXEC PGM=DBUTLTY,REGION=4096K,COND=EVEN
//STEPLIB DD DSN=DATACOM.CUSLIB,DISP=SHR
// DD DSN=DATACOM.CAAXLOAD,DISP=SHR
//CXX DD DSN=DATACOM.CXX,DISP=SHR
//PXX DD DSN=DATACOM.PXX,DISP=SHR
//SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSOUT DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSPUNCH DD DUMMY
//DDSNAP DD SYSOUT=*
//SNAPER DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSUDUMP DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSIN DD *
COMM OPTION=STATS,DBID=601
REPORT AREA=CXX,DBID=601,TYPE=A
